Christmas…….

Mentioning Christmas, in July……. Sorry, kind of.

To enable a decent Christmas event it does need to be sorted, fairly soon. It would be great to see everyone attending from across the Finance Directorate.

Having spoke to a few of you it appears the best way is to get is sorted is via a vote on what you would like to do and then narrow down some dates. So….I’ve tried to name them as a type of do.

·         “Unlimited…unhinged?” This type of event is where you pay for the meal and get unlimited alcohol. Could be messy but you know what it will cost you! Tends to be around £50-£60

·         “Scrub up, eat grub?”

This is the more traditional one, pay a fee for a 3 course meal and tends to be around £40-£50 (various options such as Aintree. Knowsley Safari and St Helens Rugby etc)

·         “Cheap and chips” The simple one. Often comments are passed about Christmas do’s and they are expensive and are, ironically, at the worst time of year when everyone has many other costs to deal with. So this is simply an afternoon/early evening meet up, probably in Liverpool, drink as long as you want and a bag of chips/kebab on the way home. Maybe could have something such as ‘Ghetto Golf’ added into the day- depending on numbers. The idea being it’s simple and you can stay out as long as you can cope and afford……

·         Christmas do-“ thanks but no thanks. Not for me”. I totally understand and respect that it may not be for you but please be assured that whichever team/dept you work in you will be warmly welcomed, even if there is just you! So don’t be shy!

Please vote using the type of do you want and ranking them in preference. I know one option won’t please everyone so let’s see what the majority prefer:

Realistically they are all going to be on a Friday or Saturday in December- day/date subject to availability and what is chosen.

At this point I just need votes on which is preferable and then look for more specific details and costs etc, as appropriate.
